okay there’s still one thing i don’t understand in Fringe finale.

Walter seemed to need the syringe with the time traveling liquid in it to cross the wormwhole; then September used it but died; then Walter crossed to accompany Mikael. Without having any injection.

So was the injection useless ? If so, why make such deal about it when September took it instead of Walter ?

If it was actually usefull, how could Walter be able to cross without it ?

Explain to me, please.
